ABOUT US

SHAPING THE FUTURE
OF PRODUCTION ANIMAL HEALTH

Prairie Livestock Veterinarians Inc. (PLV) was founded in 1999 by Dr. Chris Misutka.

What started as a small swine clinic with just one principal veterinarian rapidly grew over the first decade, expanding its clientele and staff. Dr. Egan Brockhoff joined Dr. Misutka shortly after the clinic was founded and endeavoured to provide swine health management services to all of Canada and even internationally.

In the last decade, our team has grown to include more veterinarians, technicians, and administrative staff, and we began branching out into the poultry sector. Throughout this growth, we remained committed to supporting the sustainability of the swine and poultry industries.

In 2021, PLV was acquired by Canadian Livestock Veterinarians Inc. (CLV), marking a new chapter of growth and development.

In 2026, we joined with Innovative Veterinary Services and merged to expand our services and expertise to cattle. This partnership enabled us to further expand our services, broaden our reach, and enhance our capabilities.

Today, PLV operates clinics in Alberta and Saskatchewan, serving the swine, poultry, sheep, cattle, and dairy sectors in these provinces. Our regional owners include Jessica Law, Joel Ballard and Storm Bartsoff, who lead a team of over 30 dedicated veterinarians and staff.

We take immense pride in offering exceptional service and strive to be the clinic of choice for our clients. Our talented employees are the backbone of our success, and we couldn't be prouder of the work they do every day.
